As a clinician with almost 25 years of experience in physical therapy and bodywork, I had never found a “modality” or machine that I felt worked better than my hands — until I discovered light therapy. Through a series of synchronicities in the summer of 2006 – all of which occurred in the course of about three days, I decided to look into low level lasers. Through extensive reading and internet research, I decided to invest my money on a laser device — the Q1000 system. Within a few days of using it with my clients, I realized that it was significantly different than ultrasound or electrical stimulation or hot packs or cold packs or any of the other modalities that I had been exposed to as a PT and had decided weren’t worth buying or charging my clients for.
The topics discussed here are organized by Categories. In the Clinician’s Viewpoint category, I’ll be talking about some of my clinical experiences, some of my readings in the scientific literature, some of my understanding about how lasers work and how to use them and even my personal experiences with them (I just averted an oncoming cold last night!). In the Customer Support and FAQs categories, Peter will add his take through his customer experiences and technical understanding of the lasers. Select your area of interest by clicking on the desired category link in the sidebar.
Also look for contributions from guest editors — people who are using lasers for their horses, pets, chronic illnesses, injuries and sleep issues and more — from time-to-time.
This will be a place where you can post your comments, questions and experiences. We will do our best to answer your questions. Your participation will help us learn what you want and need.
I’m looking forward to our conversations and I’m excited to see where this takes us.
